Felicita Photography Studio and Art Gallery

Designing an Art Gallery is a meditative process. The creation is of a blank canvas – a paradox in itself. Felicita gallery was one such project where the space itself was a treasure trove. Situated in a heritage building on Chowpatty with 16 feet ceiling heights, the brief was to design a huge storage space, back office and the art gallery.

We decided to retain as many original finishes as possible and added a black and white color palette with wooden trims. The original kota floor with granite inlay was polished back to its glory. An old wooden camera – a collector’s item was restored and displayed in permanent collection. Storage space was created in a mezzanine floor and the art gallery was given a spacious double height.
