Thacker Residence

Thacker’s residence was a vacation home for a family of 4 on the sea coast of Dumas in Gujarat. The 3 acre plot was an inward looking plot with no views around. The design of the residence also demanded an inward looking sanctum of peace and quiet.

 

The residence is wrapped around a central indoor court with a skylight that becomes the living space. Other spaces connect around this central court. Two bedrooms, spacious kitchen dining and secondary living space flow into each other. The dining space open out on to the verandah for an outdoor experience. The windows going all the way down to the floor let the landscape in.
